Building Information Modeling is the core of our computer based services This refers to a type of 3d software that allows the designer to drill down into the details of the building design early on in the building design process. We use Autodesk Revit software. It allows us to do solar lighting studies, artificial light studies, material and form studies, and energy studies. Looking for clashes in structure, mechanical systems and building components early on in the design process give a much better coordinated set of design documents. This 4d database has been used in facilities management after building completion.

3D Printing

We have the capability to create physical models with additive 3d printing. Thus allowing the client to hold the miniature building in their hands. There is nothing quite like it.

Virtual Reality Tours

Using the 3d BIM design model and pushing this database into virtual reality, the client can put on the virtual reality goggles and walk thru the building. It is possible within this virtual world to change time of day solar lighting and finish materials.
This virtual world gives a “feel” for the space that is not possible thru 2d rendering.

3D Laser Scanning

3D Laser Scanning is technology based around Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) scanners. We use 3D Laser Scanner data for validation of existing built environment. Integration with our BIM modeling software allows the creation of within our BIM software for documentation in remodels, as well as for verification of construction in the field.

Aerial Drone

Using small aerial drone flights for overview of potential building sites to the use in construction observation. The high resolution of the drone camera allows integration into BIM software to overlay design onto “current” site conditions.

Project Scheduling

As with all projects time is of the essence. We utilize project scheduling built into the BIM software to maintain design schedules.

Construction Document Tracking

During the Construction observation and administration phase of the project we utilize a web based software to allow management of critical project documents. These include critical path schedules, required document submittal reviews and approvals and coordination documents. This web based system has automatic document tracking and is available to all stakeholders in the construction process. This simplifies the control of documents and avoids time consuming costly confusion at the jobsite.
